Sepulchrology

In addition to this work on standing buildings, Peter has a special interest in medieval cross slab grave covers, and has recorded several thousand of these intriguing and little-known monuments across the North of England; his studies of those in Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria and West Yorkshire – each a must for any bookshelf - have all been published.
